About Daniel
With over 20 years experience in design for both English and Spanish language television, Daniel developed creative and targeted branding for multiple national entertainment shows, news programs, and promotional campaigns. Integrating on-air, print, social media, and scenic branding has resulted in several Broadcast Design Association awards and an Emmy nomination for design.
In addition to high profile projects, Daniel has been an active pro bono designer for numerous non-profit organizations and arts related endeavors.
Daniel maintains a rigorous art practice with museum and gallery exhibitions along with exhibitions at international art fairs.
The chance to express yourself in a visual way complements your ability to speak or sing or write or dance. Even if you don't know how to communicate through visual art, your attempts are a valid expression of yourself. The temptation to judge personally inspired work based on an imagined standard stops many people from venturing forward in art. If you have stopped yourself from making art because you believe you are not "good", it's time to find out what is good for you. You may be surprised when others are more enthusiastic about your work than you are. Accept the encouragement and keep going! You will learn more by doing than by wishing you did.
As an Art Director at a television network, I guided designers in developing animation, logos, illustration, and scenic design.
I received my MFA from Florida International University. My art and design work has been seen on national television and by audiences at international art fairs.

We start with a phone conversation to establish what the student wishes to learn. In that conversation we also discuss rates for lessons, the best time and place to work, and finally a materials list.
I typically work with adults
The joy of designing a set for a television show includes the process of communication with producers, directors, and studio managment to get the story right. The collaboration continues into the construction phase with lighting designers, set decorators, and on-air talent. By the time a set goes on air, the result is a mix of creative vision focused on delighting the eye.
