About Aven
I have a background in astrophysics and art history and have tutored since I was in high school in those subjects as well as in math. Math and science should be fun and engaging and shouldn't feel intimidating. I want to give students the confidence in the subject they struggle with.
Formally I have a Bachelors of Science in Astrophyics and a Bachelors of Art in Art History from Williams College (#1 small college in the country). Since college I have worked in the educational/tourism field in Hawaii, Alaska and now in Antarctica - guiding guests on adventures and educating them on the natural world, wildlife and history.
I love making science and math exciting. I think especially for young women we feel the social pressure not to be good at STEM subjects and thats not fair. Women in STEM need role models and support systems that show them anything is possible and its not just a man's subject. I help all genders and ages find the interesting and powerful tool of math and science. Lets nerd out!

Learn more about what level you are at and customize to fit your needs and understanding. Majors in Univeristy were Astrophysics and Art History so I did lots of math and tutored in astronomy and math during and after university and high school. I want to make math fun and interesting and not intimidating.
