About Katherine
I am hoping to become a teacher full time or at least part time someday for music in general. I am qualified to teach drums for now, and I study at Berklee College of Music online to learn as much about music as I can and to find my other talents. I like the idea of helping a young person prepare for their future, explore their options and interests, and to better guide them/serve them to learn more about their talents and capabilities. I think it is important to prepare someone for leading a life, just as important as it would be to prepare someone for death (like working hospice care). Everyone should find their best fit in society/the world, and I like the idea of guiding someone through learning.
I like to be able to answer any questions I can for someone that needs guidance. I would love to be supportive of another, to help someone succeed in ways they might not have thought they could. I love talking about music, and there is nothing I could teach any better than I could teach music. I am strongest in percussion/drums.
I am striving to achieve actual teaching experience, but I love the idea of teaching. I am passionate and appreciate how important education is. I currently attend a music college online. I have some brief teaching experiences with an autistic teenager, a friend's brother. We had to discontinue the lessons because the student had lost interest.
I am a student currently at Berklee College of Music online, and I have taken many lessons in drumming myself years ago. I have 15 to 20 years of professional drumming experience as well.

I go with the flow of the student and what they might want to know as a musician, or what their goals are with the learning (what they want to do with it). I would also want to identify their challenges with music or percussion to see what they could stregthen, as well as identify what their current strengths are.
Any age is okay, but I have taught best when the student is in their double digits, say at least 10 years old. They have a better attention span, seem more interested, and can handle something like a private music lesson much better.
Look for someone that you can click with to teach you because you would learn faster that way, in my humble opinion. Trust your instincts when you make your choice, because it is really your choice to make. What you want to do with your life and what your goals/dreams are is always your choice.
I have been added to a 90s tribute band since July 2022 as their official drummer. i have enjoyed the experience very much. The band is super active and we have had some of the best shows I have ever played in my life. One of my best friends is the bassist, so that creates better chemistry I feel. This band has some of the nicest, gentlemen type of musicians I have ever known and I appreciate being apart of it.

What are my strengths as a musician? Where are my weaknesses? (maybe make a list/chart here)
Where do I need to improve most as a musician in order to move forward/upward?
What are my musical influences?
Is there more about music I could learn besides one area of expertise?
Do I enjoy writing music?
Am I interested in joining a band anytime soon? How can I best prepare for auditions?
These are good questions for the student to ask themselves, but I can try and answer any music questions a student might have.

Details
I would want a minimum of 40 dollars for the lesson, but may ask for 50 dollars for a lesson if I am travelling farther than 15 miles to the lesson. Each lesson is an hour.
