About Grace
I am a Special Education K-12 major at Lindenwood University and will be graduating at the end of the year. I have been tutoring elementary students in both reading and math since 2016. I have worked with students with mild-moderate disabilities for nine years and love it!
I love working with young students and helping them learn while using fun and engaging methods. I believe that children learn best by using hands-on experiences that incorporate their natural curiosity and desire to learn. I also believe that every child learns in their own unique way. I strive to find unique and individualized teaching strategies that utilize a student's strengths to help them learn in the best way possible for the individual child.
I am in my final year of studying Special Education K-12 at Lindenwood University. Upon graduation, I will be a fully certified teacher. I have also been tutoring elementary-aged students for about five years.

Because I typically work with younger students, I like to start off by talking with the child's parent or guardian about the reasons they believe a tutor may benefit their child as well as the child's strengths and weaknesses as well as their child's interests. Communication between parents and myself is key in order for their child to succeed.
Once I have had an initial discussion with the parent, I take time to get to know the student by playing games and talking while assessing the general ability level of the student.
