About
I am a person that loves to learn new things everyday. Once I start to learn something, I want to become an expert on the subject. I also love to share my knowledge of subjects that I have mastered.
My favorite subjects to continue to learn about are history, world cultures, english, writing, and current events. While these are my favorites, I do not limit myself to only these subjects. Learning and teaching are what help us to preserve what is going on in this moment in time.

My first step is to try and get to know the student as much as I can in an initial meeting. I like to know about them. What are their hobbies? What is their favorite color? What sort of music do they enjoy? Who do they study with? How do they study? How do they enjoy school? What is their favorite subject?
Next, I need to know what the student, and his or her parents, want to accomplish with our tutoring sessions. Are higher test scores the goal, or are we trying to better grasp the subject in general? We also need to know what the school teacher is giving as feedback for the student.
These are a few of many things I like to know about a new student. Finding out this information assists me in planning the best tutoring methods for this particular student. Each student is different and learns in different ways. Therefore, the method I used for my last student may not work well with this new student.
This may seem like a lot, however it is necessary in order to give the student everything he or she needs to succeed.
