About Sylvia
I am an experienced tutor in English Language Arts, Spanish, Math and Science. My strongest skillset is tutoring English Language Arts. I have worked with students from diverse backgrounds, including Spanish-speaking, autism, and ADD students. I am punctual and concise with students when it comes to staying on task, meeting deadlines and getting schoolwork finished. I graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Psychological and Brain Sciences in 2019 and work around the BCS area.
I worked at Davila Middle School with Bryan ISD tutoring 7th and 8th grade English Language Arts and Social Studies. I also performed in-home tutoring sessions in any subject for students around the Bryan College Station area. During my time as a tutor, I learned to customize lessons to fit the needs of the individual. I also learned how to make learning interactive and engaging during group or classroom lessons. I was commended many times for my ability to be creative and quick when it comes to making up mnemonics, songs, and other learning aids to help students master material. Additionally, I learned the value of patience and how to maintain classroom control, even under stress. I am confident I will exceed your expectations.
