About Kaitlin
Hello! My goal is to help any student struggling in the English Language Arts department. I feel as though this is important because reading and writing are the two foundations of creating life long learners! By developing these skills, students are sure to excel and be creative learners forever. I am currently teaching in a 5th grade English Language Arts classroom now. I have a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education which certifies me grades 1-6.
I started the teaching program at SEMO when I was 20 years old. Prior to thins, I took my pre requisite classes at Mineral Area College that prepared me for the program.
I am a 5th grade teacher. I have also had experiences in grades 1-8. I provide all of my own materials and I ahve been trained through Southeast Missouri State University and Mineral Area College.

My first step is to find out the student’s interest. I will also talk to the parent and child regarding what the struggling area is. Based on the information I collect, I will create lessons based on the students interest and field of improvement.
I have worked with students ranging in age from 6-14.
I recently attended a dyslexia seminar that helped prepare me for a student that struggles with reading and has a possible dyslexia diagnosis.
