About Ope
Hi, my name is Ope Rogers. English is my native language. I have been teaching for more than twenty years. I first started teaching English to Venezuelans who came to my country to learn English. I later migrated to the United States to teach. To intensify my knowledge and practice of ESL I did an MSc in Education specializing in TESOL at City College, New York and soon after that acquired my ESL license. I always give my best to my students who are always satisfied with the effort I put out to ensure their success.
: (concealed information)
My enjoyment comes from the satisfaction I get from seeing my students move from knowing very little English to becoming more and more fluent, and holding good conversations. I also enjoy seeing the look of satisfaction on students' faces when they successfully complete a task they had been struggling with. One of the ways I try to ensure the success of my students is to ensure that they are engaged in activities that are appropriate to their age, interests and cultural background and to make them believe that I genuinely care about them.
