About Carrie Grace
I want to make sure that study skills are developed to work long term rather than simply understanding content in the short term. I also understand, as a current college student, how daily schedules and habits can affect my grade! We will look at the big picture to see how we can improve and reduce stress, while also focusing on the important details and understanding of the content!
Towards my junior and senior year of high school, I was put in leadership positions in different clubs and my passion project. I quickly learned that one of the best ways for others to understand a subject or grow as a student is to have other students or people their age rally around them and support them!
I graduated high school in May of 2022 with a 4.0 GPA. At the time of graduation, I was given the honor to be named an Outstanding Senior and Honor Graduate with Distinction. I was the Speech Captain at my high school, where I supported my peers in putting their thoughts into a piece to present at competitions, while working on my own speeches and oral interpretations! I took 5 APs in High School (AP Lang, AP Lit, AP Human Geography, AP Environmental Science, and AP Physics), with a 5 on the AP Human Geography Test and a 3 on the AP Language. I completed 5 dual enrollment courses, as well as Honors Chemistry, Screenwriting, and French I-III. When I was not studying, I was heavily involved in the performing arts department, Key Club, French Honors Society, Speech and Debate Honors Society, National Honors Society, and Thespian Society. I started and ran my own passion project with other teens in my community, where we planned and hosted events that gave back to international and local charity projects. I actually transferred high schools halfway through my junior year, which taught me a lot about myself as a student, as I had done online school and online college throughout the transition. I am currently a freshman at Williamson College, where I am pursuing a Business Administration degree with a minor in Intercultural Studies! In my free time I enjoy getting outside, traveling, writing, working on my blog, fishing, long distance running, and playing my instruments!

First, we will look at the goals of our tutoring session(s). What caused you to hire a tutor? I also feel it is important I get to know you for more than just your academics, so I can help better balance the coursework with your extracurriculars, habits, schedules, etc. We can learn how to use your learning style (such as tactile or visual learning) to better help you! We will then begin reviewing what was already taught, which may involve looking over homework or study notes, doing hands on activities, or discussing our thoughts! We would also discuss the strengths and weaknesses that are determining the comprehension of the subject, and then look at what is needed moving forward to improve! If preparing for a presentation or essay, we can brainstorm or go over what has already been completed, as well as discuss steps that can be taken to minimize stress and maximize quality before the deadline!
I have worked with my peers on speeches, team members on my passion projects regarding social media writing and financials, and many peers on essays and reading assignments!
Do not be afraid to ask for a tutor! If anything, seeking support in your academics shows that you care, which is amazing!
One of my favorite events would have to be the time I snorkeled in Iceland (yes... I mean snorkel as in snorkel). I had saved up the money for my graduation trip to go, and I took the opportunity to go with a local and snorkel between the North American and Eurasian Tectonic plates in some of the clearest (and chilliest) water in the world! It was truly a once in a lifetime experience!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What type of learner am I?
Why might I be struggling with a subject?
Is my relationship with the teacher affecting my grade?
What daily habits I am practicing are negatively affecting my academic performance?
Am I passionate about the subject?
