About Daniela
Hello! I am currently a student at Florida International University Honors College.
I have been published by New York University's book "West Fourth", won the Miami Dade Spelling Bee in 2009, and have been apart of many honor societies involving the English language.
On my SATs, I received a combined score of 2150/2400, excelling especially in reading and writing.
I currently intern for the BBC as a public relations/communications writer.
I am a Journalism and International Relations major, meaning that I am proficient in writing considering my major is primarily based on it.
I tutor students in my university in exchange for service hours as required by the Honors College.
I have never received below an A in a class where writing is the platform.
I'm fluent in English and Spanish; I will happily help bilingual students struggling to improve their writing.
I am proficient in most essay/writing styles. I will proofread your work, give you rigorous yet polite critique, and most importantly, I will boost your confidence and help you raise your grades!
Remember, writing is how you make a dent in history!
I currently attend Florida International University, and am apart of the Honors College. The Honors College requires students to tutor in exchange for credits. I must tutor within my major, which is communications.
I tutor primarily in writing.
Before that, in highschool I tutored in all the honor societies I pertained to: Quill and Scroll (journalism), English, Spanish, and Technical Honor Societies. All were dense in writing.
I am a published writer who has received awards for her writing.

Throughout highschool, I pertained to many honor societies that involved writing and the english language.
I received a 4 on my English AP Test and a 2150/2400 on my SATs (primarily excelling in Reading and Writing).
I got accepted to New York University, Northwestern University, and Georgetown University. However, due to the extreme costs, I could not attend. I plan to attend in the future.

When working with a new student I ask them to bring work that demonstrates their writing skills. This can be in the form of homework, essays, and even emails.
I read over their work, proofread, and try to grasp their tone. Their tone is important, hence, why I ask for different types of assignments.
When I read over everything, I point out their strengths and weaknesses in writing.
Furthermore, I ask them to tell me about how they write and how they prepare themselves.
Getting to know the student is key to getting them to write better. Otherwise, we'd just be treading on water.
The process varies from student to student. The student's attitude and energy is very important!
If you want to improve, you will!
I work with students of all ages. Depending on the age, I focus on grammar, phonics, punctuation, and writing.
I am fluent in Spanish and English. Attending a multicultural university like FIU means that many of the students I tutor are struggling with having spanish as their first language. Therefore, I train them to switch their "languages" when writing. I make my bilingual students express themselves in the language they're most proficient in, and afterwards, I prepare them to use the same energy in English.
As a tutor, I suggest students be keen on improving themselves and understanding that it tatkes two to tango. I, as a tutor, can only give you the tools to excel.
