About Noah
I've been tutoring in Southern California and abroad for almost a decade. While I was studying music, biology, and political science at the University of Redlands, I worked for a free tutoring service offered to elementary, middle, and high schools in the San Bernardino area. After I graduated, I moved to Long Beach, California where I continued to tutor privately and then also at the Long Beach Sylvan Learning Center. While I was there, I also tutored college students in statistics and psychology, as well as general essay writing.
At the elementary and middle school levels, I tutored reading, writing, math, and sciences. For high school students, I've mainly tutored math (algebra, statistics, and pre-calc), biology, chemistry, and social sciences. I've also helped build general and practical skills like reading and literacy, resume-crafting, writing essays, and editing cover letters.
I continued to tutor and lead study sessions when I went to Sweden to complete a Master of Science in Cognitive Neuroscience. While learning about the intersection of biology, psychology, and philosophy, I organized study sessions for my classmates and tutored programming and statistics skills. I also volunteered to edit ESL-graduate students’ essays. Lastly, and as a complete change of topics, I have played classical piano since I was four years old. Regardless of the subject, I try to keep tutoring sessions interactive and fun. My favorite teachers have been those willing to have a conversation and not simply just lecture, and that’s exactly my attitude towards tutoring.
