About Elliot
Hi there! I have 4 years of classroom and 3 years of tutoring experience. I have found that most of my students like to learn in a relaxed, stress-free environment. When you have constant pressure to do well, sometimes no matter how much you try the understanding doesn't come. It's not your fault. My students learn to build a strong foundation because they like learning without stress. I can't guarantee that learning is always fun, but you will enjoy your experience. I look forward to meeting you!
The things that applied to you when you were younger are still pretty close to being the same today First, if you want to get your grades up you have to study. That's why you are looking for a tutor. Not just any Tutor but someone you can relate to. Maybe it's me -maybe not. If you want to crack the books and learn something as well as have a good time doing it, then I'm the guy. If you want to pass by the skin of your teeth, working with me-not so much. Yes, I like fun but I also like to see you succeed. I can help you do that. So you have to decide. It's a big decision. I have been teaching in the classroom and as a tutor for 7 years. My College Undergraduate Degree is in Education, My Graduate Degree is in Leadership and Special Education.
I have worked with students from Elementary School to College In the areas of Math, English and History. I have been an Alternative School teacher for students who couldn't succeed in the regular public schools and I taught math in a prison. I have also taught as a special education teacher for middle school students.
My background is varied and a bit unusual. Mostly it has given me the ability to teach all kinds of students with patience and a sense of humor that my students enjoy. I think you'll be happy with me as your tutor.

This must be the serious part. Ok, I'm going to put on my serious face. When I work with a new student I first want to get to know them. I want them to get to know me, too. Unless we can talk how can we know if we are a good fit to work together? Once we have decided that we can work together then I want to know the issues, the problems, the things that are driving you crazy, and are hurting your learning and your concentration. Once we can do all of that then we can begin learning. You are the most important person to me. I want you to succeed and during our time together that is what I going to try to make happen.

Elliot Yaro is very easy to work with as he's funny and works with you to help you understand the subject material. For example: he found that I remembered material better when in a song or put to a tune, so he's helped me make songs or jigs to jog my memory of material that I was struggling with.
