About Scott
Hi There!
I am a licensed elementary and middle school teacher. I have been teaching for 17 years and tutoring for 20 in grades 1-9. I am fun, focused, and supportive. Kids have seen dramatic improvement and a major boost in confidence. I am also a father of three elementary kids of my own and know the importance a parent places on a child’s success and happiness. Prior to meeting with a student, I generally discuss the child’s progress and personality with the parents.
My first meeting with the student is usually free because it is less formal. I try to connect positively with the student and go through some different tasks to assess the ability level of the student.
Our second meeting is when I actually bill for services. By this point, we have a rapport and I have a better sense of the needs of the student and how to best address them. Sometimes, I may bring my own tasks to work on. Other times, we may work on homework or tasks from a teacher or something specific that the student needs us to look at and improve.
