About Allison
Hi there! My name is Miss Pike and I am a second year literacy and writing teacher! I recieved my Master's in Education after obtaining a bachelor's degree in exercise science. I am currently teaching sixth graders, but have experience with fourth graders, and am very comfortable applying grade-wide curriculum to learning. I love when I can connect my student's learning to "real life" situations and thinking. I have been teaching my literacy and writing with references to movies, young adult books, etc. The more you can apply your learning to your interests, the better!
I have a masters degree in K-8 education with two years in the classroom as an Ed tech/student teacher, as well as this being my second year teaching!

I really like to get to know the student personally. Learning is not cookie cutter; I want to make learning relatable. If that means learning about a sport, an art, or another topic of interest so that I can better teach someone, then I will do it! I want to make sure students get the best experience possible and develop a love of learning!
