About Carolyn
Growth mindset is the key to learning. If a student does not believe they have the ability to grow, then they won't. I combine brain science with tried and true educational practices to help students find success. I have been a middle school teacher for 10 years and also have a passion for mental health and wellness.
Building relationships with students and helping them achieve their goals.
I grew up working at summer camps and went to school to become a teacher.
Degree in Middle-Level Education. I have been to countless professional growth classes throughout my years as a teacher.

First I want to get to know them as an individual and get a feel for their confidence level--what do they do for fun? What motivates them? What do they view as their strengths and weaknesses? Next, we would establish what each of our roles would be in this working relationship. We'd make a plan for our time together, and then we would dive in and get to work!
5th-8th graders, but I am willing to expand my reach to anyone who needs help building a growth mindset.
I'm here to help you understand the information in front of you and build the skills you need to be successful. I'm not here to do the work for you. I value you too much as a capable individual to steal from you in that way.
