About Kate
I have a master's degree in Early Childhood and Elementary education with 9 years of classroom teaching experience. I have additional years of experience leading kids in non-classroom settings. I am CREATIVE and PATIENT and believe in a "whole child" approach to learning.
I just love kids! I love their creativity, their questions and the way they see the world.
I started teaching in 2006. My first job was as a teacher's aid in a 3-4yo preschool. Since then, I have taught all ages from toddlers-5th graders.
I have a master's degree in Early Childhood and Elemntary Education.

When first meeting a new student, I am taking mental note of their interests and what areas of learning they are confident in and areas of learning where there may be hesitiation. I am also watching for unique personality traits that will play into the learning experience (energetic, talkative, shy, attention span, etc.).
I have worked with all kinds of learners, both typical and atypical.
It's ok to need help sometimes. EVERYONE does at some point.
At my most recent place of employment, I was positioned in the office of a christian elementary school. I took the initiative to create an afterschool worship club. 20 students joined the club! I led them independently for 1 hour a week, facilitating devotions and leading them in rehearsal and then performing weekly for the school's chapel services.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I like to know that a student really tried on their own, first. This way, I know I am truely helping them and can see where they got stuck.
