About Vanessa

I love to help students understand the concept of Algebra. As someone who used to struggle with math from a young age, I understand the importance of someone who does not only truly care to teach about the subject but is also passionate about it. I was also born in France, therefore, as a French citizen, my first language is french. This language can quite be difficult to learn but is not impossible to do so.

As the oldest of my family, I am always helping and tutoring someone, however, in my senior year of high school, I was also an AVID tutor (Advanced Via Individual Determination). The "ooooh", I understand of the students I tutored put a huge smile on my face. It is hard to learn things that are completely unfamiliar to you and I get it but if you are determined to learn by going to tutoring like you are doing you will get it. My biggest relief and joy in helping other students is the "I get it!!"

I remember as if it was yesterday when I would go to the board that my father had built for my brother and me with chalk in my hand teaching my brother whatever I learned in school this day. As I grew up, it grew up with me too, to the point where I volunteered to tutor AVID students.

I have tutored AVID students in my senior year in high school. Additionally, I am continuing this by tutoring my little brother whenever he needs help academically.

I like to know anyone new before going forward with anything. Every student has their style of learning. Therefore, I believe that as I meet a new student our first session will be dedicated for us to know each other. THem to know the way I work, and for me to understand how they work and learn.

I have mostly worked with high school students, however, I will also be able to work with middle schoolers, as long as they are motivated and ready to work.

My advice would be to make sure they know what they are doing. Yet, this doesn't mean the teacher knows everything and sometimes is learning as they are teaching, which is find as long as you understand and grasp the concept.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
- What don't I understand? Is it a step of the process or the whole concept?

- WHat specifically do I need clarity on? (Make sure to properly state your question so that the teacher can meet your needs to the best of their abilities.)

Since I am new to the platform, I do not have a standard pricing system. As a result, it will be discussed before a new session with the student starts.
