About Madeline
Hello,
My name is Madeline, and I have a passion for helping others communicate clearly through their writing.
In high school, I was awarded for being the #1 student in my AP English Class.
In college, as a result of a professor recommendation, I spent 1.5 years working as a writing tutor at my university's Writing Center. Here, I honed my tutoring skills and earned highly positive reviews from my peer clients.
When it came time to apply to medical school, I wrote a creative, clear, and compelling personal statement and was admitted. After reading my essay, my university's pre-health counselor suggested I tutor others. I also received praise for my statement from medical school interviewers, and believe it played a large role in my acceptance.
Now, I want to help you achieve the same success. I can tutor anyone from elementary school students to college students. Whether you are struggling to come up with a topic for an AP English essay, or need help editing a college essay, I would be happy to assist you.

I enjoy the process of translating information that a student explains to me verbally into a cohesive and clear essay that they are excited to submit. I often find that students' "writing voice" is very different from their "speaking voice," and that when I have them read their work aloud or explain it to me, a breakthrough occurs.

I am willing to assist students with all aspects of the writing process, and recognize that each student has individual needs. Upon meeting a new student, I will first learn about their writing background and goals. Gaining a full understanding of their teacher's, professor's, or essay prompt's requirements is crucial for success in writing. We can then set up times to meet in person, over email or phone, or through Skype.

Madeline is amazing! She gave me great advice on my paper and she was thorough in her feedback.
