About Vincent
About Me:
I completed my BA in Economics and my Masters of Science in Finance at the University of Missouri. While in my masters program, I completed and edited originial research that was used by local politicians, businesspeople, and professors. I graduated from my masters program with a 3.7 GPA! I have knowledge in finance, economics, professional writing, and editing.
I enjoy helping others and sharing the knowledge I have accumulated in my journey through academia. If you, or your child, needs help in finance, economics, and/or professional writing and editing, please contact me!
Tutoring:
The adage, "practice makes perfect" serves as a template for my teaching style. After identifying areas that you need help in, the student and I will create measurable objectives to mark our progress. Once we build our objectives, I will craft a custom curriculum designed to improve those areas and work with you to meet your goals.
I started tutoring/mentoring during my undergraduate program. Several friends were struggling with writing papers for a history class. They had a final report due the next week and had made little progress on the paper. I had a reputation for enjoying writing, so they came to me for help.
Fastforward six years and I am still helping people with their studies!

The first session is generally spent identifying areas that need help. For example, when working with a student who needs assistance with their grammar, I will read their past works and highlight areas that they can improve on. Once we find those areas, I will draft a curriculum that the student and I will cover over the following lessons.
While working together, I often ask my students for feedback! Not every student learns the same way, so it is quite preposterous to teach every student the same way!
I have helped traditional, disabled, and international students.
Take the time to identify what your expectations are for the tutor and what the expectations are for yourself. Some tutors do not spend enough time making a personalized lesson plan, while some students expect their tutor to learn for them. Be honest with yourself and your tutor!

Vincent was very calming. I am a disabled student and struggle with test anxiety (among other things). He understood that I didn't learn the same way and was accommodating when I had anxiety attacks. You're the best, Vincent! Thank you!
Vincent was very professional and courteous. He helped me with Econometrics in my undergraduate. Econometrics is brutal, but he showed me the practical side of regressions. Definitely recommend him for anyone needing a tutor.
I took my daughter, Rachel, for extra help in Finance 101 during high school! I was very impressed with how dedicated he was about her learning. Rachel was thrilled that he tailored his teaching style to match her learning style. I believe Rachel went back to him again when she was in college!
Vincent showed me how to edit my own writing. I was struggling in English 2500 and reached out to him. He went through my past writing and found common errors I was making. We worked on strengthening those skills. Keep up the work, Vincent!
I worked with Vincent in Microeconomics. He was approachable and took the time to make sure I was understanding the material. He definitely saved my Micro grade.
