About Annalisa
Hello everyone Annalisa here!
Thank you for seeking professional support and experienced teachers, like myself, to help you master rewarding and extremely valuable skills, in all fields of our lives.
I am an experienced linguist, creative writer, college admission essays tutor, teacher of English Language and Literature, and of World languages (Spanish, French, Italian).
Languages and the study of how they can support us in our personal, professional, and emotional wellbeing and success are at the core of what I do and my passion.
I have helped countless professionals and people of all ages and from all walks of life, with dedication and motivation.
In my classes, we learn through doing and with "all hands on deck tasks" that allow my students to be fully immersed in fun real-life situations, while I will be collaborating with them, prioritizing their favorite way to learn and practice their skills.

I am a quadrilingual polyglot of English, Spanish, Italian, and French languages thanks to my multicultural and multilingual upbringing, as well as my studies and linguistic research. My ambition and career goals regard being a part of the work of organizations in the fields of technological and linguistic development, education advancement, and linguistic research.
My education focused on Modern Foreign Languages, Literature, Linguistics, and International Communication at the University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’. I graduated with a specialization in Intercultural Mediation, Language Teaching, Social Justice and Human Rights, Translation, and Interpreting. To further enhance my knowledge on the domain, I completed a Postgraduate Course in Education at Master level in Teaching and researching in Modern Foreign Languages, Language Arts, Literature, and Social Studies for Secondary and Higher Education, at University of Nottingham, U.K. I relocated to the US in 2018 after spending two years in China where I perfected my expertise as an International Education consultant, an English Language Arts, ESL, EAL, Modern Foreign Language teacher (Spanish, French, Italian), as well as a Linguist and Language Specialist. I have also contributed to a variety of projects globally, such as localization software translation, education reforms, and research, women empowerment projects, youth activism, creative writing, and public speaking competitions for young adults.
My training, research, and social involvement across cultures and political institutions make me an ideal candidate for positions that require interacting within multicultural and multilingual environments, promoting human rights, global visions, international cooperation, and technological advancement. The working experience within ethnically and culturally diverse groups proved to be a unique source of interdisciplinary, cultural and language knowledge. My communication, plurilingual skills, and detail-oriented professional approach have proven to be a great asset to the various roles I have explored in my career. My passion for languages and linguistic research gave me the opportunity to have a constant fresh perspective on the most progressive theories and approaches in applied linguistics, and global language education, that I apply on my day to day of my profession.

I normally like to dedicate the first couple of classes to get to know each other and our respective and preferred teaching and learning modalities.
I have been working with students of all ages but I have specialized in working with teens and college students. I have also helped college applicants with their admission essays.
Let's get to know each other and our approaches to teaching and learning so I can be your best ally.
