About Tracy
I have been teaching social studies for 7 years. I've always loved history! The ancient history of the world has always been my favorite but because I've been teaching US History for the past 4 years, I've come to really love and appreciate it more.
I have a BA in history and a MAT in teaching education. I am looking forward to starting my specialist degree in the fall of 2020 in which I will work towards a degree in special education.
I was a student that struggled academically. I struggled with math and reading skills. I grew up knowing that I wanted to be a teacher so that I could help students that struggle just as I did, which led me to become a special education teacher.
I have a BA in history and a MAT in teaching secondary education. I currently teach special education social studies so I use several types of strategies to help students learn the material.

I find out what subject they need help with, discuss grades and assignments that the student has had in the current class. Then I ask what they struggle with the most in that class. That can tell me where they struggle and what strategies I need to use.
I've worked with 2nd and 3rd grade students in a self contained classroom; 6th grade inclusion setting for social studies; 6th grade gifted setting for social studies; and 9th resource and co taught world history, 10th grade co taught American government, 11th grade resource and co taught us history, and 12th grade co taught economics.
