About John
My favorite part of the job is when students start understanding and falling in love with the topic of history!
My favorite thing about my work is connecting with students as well as learning and talking about history!
I got started in tutoring by a History teacher asking me to help and tutor a fellow student in my class and after helping him I learned I loved to help other as well as help them learn in new ways and new things.
I have had a independent passion for History and have studied alone for much of my teenage life, I am now pursuing a major in History at Pacific University, and lastly I have had tutoring experience during high school.

For the first session I just want to meet the student and understand how they process things and what are the best available steps for me to follow to get them to comprehend what is happening. After that I do my best to get the student to understand and appreciate History in a new light and be able to carry over what they've learned into school or everyday life.
I have worked with a range of students from those who just struggle with History, to those with special needs. I do my best to cater and fit the needs of all my students.
The advice I would give is to not go with the first person you see or meet but to find someone who has a passion for what they do and teach and someone who only wants your success.
