About Richard
I earned my bachelor's and master's degrees during my college experience, but I have been a student all my life. I have the greatest love for our system of government, for the institutions that make it up and the history it has created. I have served on both sides of Capitol Hill as a congressional aide, and in the halls of state government in North Carolina. Along the way, I learned the power of the written word. And after writing professionally and serving in government for four decades, I feel an obligation to pass on to others that which I have enjoyed along my life's journey. I begin by discussing with the student their goals for our sessions and the assignment(s) they may have. We will do an assessment of their current skill levels, discuss what they can expect of me and what I can expect of them, and then implement the plan of action that we have finalized.
