About Oran
I am currently a doctoral student in history, and have extensive experience teaching at various levels. Feedback I have consistently received includes the ability to explain historical concepts and events in a clear, interesting manner. I specialize in American, European, and Jewish history, but teach World History as well.
I have a bachelor's degree in general history, and am currently working towards a Phd in American Jewish history. My studies have given me extensive background in American history, European history, and Jewish history. I come with approximately 7 years of classroom teaching experience, and about an equal amount of experience in adult education.

We first assess what the student's goals are. They could be improved grades in class, succes on AP exams, historical essay skills, or any combination of the above.
We then build an outline of what we want to accomplish and how.
The final step is the actual work, namely engaging the student with the material, including periodic assessments (not tests) to determine progress. We will work together with materials the student brings (such as classroom work), as well as materials I provide.
I have worked with students of all age and skill levels.
Look for someone to whom you are not afraid to ask questions, and look for someone who will not cut corners with you, but give you their full attention and effort.
