About Emily

I created Heart of Riding, LLC to serve two purposes: 1) to help people who want to be deeply connected, balanced, and highly skilled riders, and 2) to help horses and their partners learn a common language, making the relationship one of trust, partnership and mutual joy.

I am a Mary Wanless accredited Ride With Your Mind Coach, with a history of riding and working as a horse professional my whole life.

As a student of positive reinforcement training (R+), all of my school horses are R+ savvy. R+ training leads to horses that are bright, cooperative, and eager to do the right thing.

My students make progress in leaps and bounds because of my 20+ year immersion the innovative teaching methods developed by Mary Wanless, world renowned for her Ride With Your Mind method, found in her books, clinics and online learning library.

The methods I use are proven to be the most learner-friendly the horse industry has seen to date, and it's only getting better as time goes on. Not only are my lessons safe and effective, they are FUN!
