About Simone
I began teaching elementary school in 2021 and quickly found my passion for childhood education growing and growing more every day. In working with you and your child I would be able to come to your home or meet in a set location for tutoring sessions up to two and a half hours per session, which can be held during the week or on weekends. Sessions can focus on one subject or multiple subjects, test prep, homework help, or a combination of the above. Before beginning I would love to have a conversation regarding the primary areas you feel your child needs assistance with, what methods you may have found to be helpful in the past, any special needs your child may have, and any other information you think would be pertinent for me to best support your child’s learning.
My experience teaching in a second grade general education classroom and a fourth grade ICT classroom while working towards my dual certification in Elementary Education and Special Education has allowed me to expand my understanding of how a comprehensive, compassionate, accommodating and flexible teacher can deeply affect student outcomes. I have worked with students with learning disabilities, emotional disturbance, speech and language impairment, and multiple disabilities. I have extensive experience teaching test prep in both Math and English for the NYS tests and have tutored and taught both subjects.
I hold a Bachelors of Arts in psychology and literature from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, PA, where I graduated in 2020. I grew up in the New York City school system, and teaching and tutoring in NYC truly brings life to the idea of giving back to ones community. I would be honored to help your child in their academic development!
