About John
Hello, I'm John, a rising junior at Cornell University and a passionate tutor specializing in Reading, Writing, and SAT preparation for high school students. My journey as an educator began with my experiences tutoring chess and piano during my high school years. These early encounters ignited my interest in the dynamics of one-on-one instruction and sparked a desire to help students succeed.
What sets me apart is my love for solving puzzles and my natural inclination towards reading and writing. This passion seamlessly transitioned to a fascination with standardized tests, where I discovered an unexpected joy in unraveling their intricacies. I was captivated by the challenge and structure of these exams, and the surprising result was that I wanted to teach them.
While I value the importance of achieving high scores, I believe that learning should be enjoyable and engaging. Therefore, in my tutoring approach, I prioritize creating interesting, challenging, and intellectually stimulating lessons.
