About Gianna
I know that math can be intimidating, so I aim to make it simple and fun! I break the concepts down to be easy to understand, and I can explain things in many different ways to cater to different learning styles. I am patient and friendly, and my ultimate goal is to empower you to be the most confident student you can be!
I love sharing my knowledge and love for math, and I love seeing when students start to understand the subject! I am genuinely proud of students because they are doing hard work and building their confidence, and I get such joy from being part of that process.
I earned a B.S. in Mathematics and graduated with honors from Ohio State University, so I have a comprehensive knowledge of the subject. In college I was a TA for College Algebra, where I taught 2 recitations for the course and helped with homework questions, general concepts, and quiz and test prep. I also held office hours for one on one sessions. Additionally, I worked in the math tutor center to help any student on a walk-in basis. In high school I tutored students at all phases of learning, from 3rd grade through 10th grade.

My first step is to understand the student's goals and why they are looking for a tutor. I like to know what they want to get out of the session so I can make sure we spend our time wisely. I then ask about any past tutoring experiences and teaching styles that have worked or have not worked for them. From there, we will come up with a plan for each session, and I will make sure to cater to their learning style.
