About Gilad
My name is Gilad, and I'm a college student pursuing a bachelors in civil engineering and an a masters in business administration. A subject that has allowed me to thrive in these rigorous programs is math, and the ability to use numbers to quantify and calculate. Math is a subject that has grown on me over the years, depsite not always being very good at it. In fact, at one point it was my worst subject! But with hard work, consistency and seeking professional help from tutors, I was able to improve my ability to use math as well as understand it. I would love to help others understand how valuable math is and how fun it can be! And of course, I will make sure to listen to your needs and help you with what you don't understand as math can often be difficult because of a lack of good quality (and easy-to-follow) explanations!
My desire to start tutoring came from two fundamental reasons, I love math, and also am good at explaining things in a way people can understand.
While I don't have a vast background in education, I have helped people in the past with many different types of math course work ranging from middle school level maths (pre-algebra, algebra 1 etc.), highschool level math (geometry, algebra 2, trigonometry, pre-calculus, SAT/ACT math prep, and even AP calc courses such as calc AB,BC). I have of course taken college level math courses such as calc 1-3, and performing well in all of them and am taking diffirential equations in the fall.

When I meet a new student, the first thing I do is get to know them a bit (not a full on job interview but talk to them and get to know a bit about them, information such as interests and so forth). This allows me to establish a comfortable environment where the student knows that they will not be judged for any math questions they may have and that I am only here to help!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Before a student comes to me, it would be great for them to bring me their coursework and show me what they are learning so I can better help them learn what is relavent to them. I do not want to waste anybodys time as you are paying for my service, I would like to make sure that you are getting the most out of my lessons and feel that they are worthwile.

Details
My rate for tutoring is 40$ an hour, I am not a stickler so if we go over an hour and it is my fault I will of course not charge extra, and moreover, if a student is in the middle of asking a question or we are in the middle of a problem and so forth I will happily finish working through the problem (of course not charging extra). My goal is to be reasonable, help others learn their course material and feel confident in the classroom while not overcharging. For SAT/ACT math tutoring my rate increases to 50$ an hour!
