About Paul
Through middle and high school, I was always the kid that my peers would turn to for help with their math homework. When I started college, I was hired to hold weekly computer science tutoring sessions, which were my first real foray into teaching. I really enjoyed helping students solve problems, so when I applied to graduate school, getting a position as a GTA was an exciting next step. Within a year, I got the chance to teach a small class of my own, and I was hooked.
-I graduated with a B.S. in Math and Computer Science from Pacific Lutheran Unversity with a 3.9 GPA.
-I worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Math department at Oregon State University for 3.5 years. During that time, I taught recitations of 200 and 300 level courses, tutored several students at once in both office hours and the tutoring center, and worked as a weekly tutor for a blind student to provide accomodations for their math courses. I also took graduate-level math courses of my own, and recieved an Excellence in Coursework award from the department.
