About Alexander
I have been a tutor for over 5 years, and have taught topics ranging from high school chemistry up to advanced quantum mechanics topics. As a senior undergraduate physics B.S. at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, my experience with STEM-related topics is at an elevated level. My experience in physics itself has culminated in me being granted a grant from the KEEN Supplement to study a dental cone-beam CT device for preclinical/clinical application.
I love helping other people learn in any capacity, hence my long history with tutoring. Helping guide others along to solve a problem they might be struggling with is an amazing feeling, it is a passion of mine!
I began tutoring while I was in high school for courses in chemistry, both honors and AP, and for all forms of mathematics offered there, honors level courses and AP Calculus AB, BC, and AP Statistics. Since then, I have only continued to tutor informally over my college years.
I am a senior undergraduate Physics B.S. at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Over the past semester, I have done formal work as an LA instructor for an introductory physics course in electromagnetism, optics, and quantum behavior. Furthermore, I have completed graduate-level courses in quantum mechanics.

When I have a new student, I help them by working through my tried-and-true problem solving strategy that can be applied to any problem. Using this strategy, students can develop a solid basis from which to solve further problems they may have and maximize the amount of information they gain from completing any sort of problem.
I have worked with a wide variety of students, all at different levels of understanding. No one is unteachable, nor is any lesson unapproachable. Sometimes, all we need is another angle to look at a problem from, and I all wish to do is highlight that angle for others to utilize.
Never be afraid to reach out and utilize as many resources as possible!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Of course, you may not think you know what the answer is to a problem when you go up to ask for help. What you can do to help both yourself and your teacher is highlight what you have tried to do, what you used to do it (equations and the like), and why you know what results you have are incorrect.

I typically run sessions on the order of an hour, but longer sessions can be accommodated for of course. My pricings are listed below per subject content. I focus on teaching material related to science and mathematics:
