About Ria
Hi everyone! I'm Ria and I am currently a sophomore at Rutgers University Honors Program studying Public Relations and Leadership/Management in affiliation with the Business School. In high school, I was a member of National Honors Society where I tutored primarily elementary and middle school students in math and reading. One of the main reasons I choose to tutor is because I genuinely enjoy helping students learn, prosper, and grow. It is so important to create a connection with the student to not only understand where they are struggling, but to also come up with strategies to help them overcome their struggle and succeed in whatever they are pursuing.
As a student myself, I know that every student has a different way of learning/grasping information and it is my every intention to figure out what your child's best learning method is, and tailor our tutoring sessions toward that. My goal is to make tutoring a productive as well as fun experience so your child truly enjoys learning.
Ever since I was young, I have always understood numbers/variables and figured out strategies to learn the material and retain it for the years to come. I believe that it is very important for students to have a strong foundation in the basics of math and develop strategies to learn difficult material from the start so they use these strategies for harder math classes. This is why I primarily tutor in Elementary/Middle School Math (along with Pre Algebra and Algebra I).
