About Simon
Hello all! As a tutor for the past 6 years, I've seen many students who have come to me struggling with their classes in school and university, and left being successful in their education goals. I work using the Socratic method and the "scaffolding" model in my tutoring sessions to help students gain the independent confidence they need to learn their material.
I have a BM in Music Composition from the University of Louisville and was trained in tutoring through the REACH Center in Louisville.
Tutoring is also very rewarding for the tutor as well as the student. When one of my students finally understands and uses a particular concept it is the greatest feeling in the world.

When working with a new student, I start by asking them what they already know about the topic at hand. Showing them that they already know more than they think builds confidence. Then we isolate their difficulties and begin to build off of their existing knowledge to start to understand the new material.
