About Rowan
I am a current student at the University of Northern Colorado. I am majoring in Psychology. I earned a 3.93 GPA in my first semester of college. I have 2 younger siblings that I have helped academically in middle and high school.In high school, I took several AP classes listed as follows with my AP exam score in parentheses:
-AP Psychology (5)
-AP Statistics (4)
-AP English Language and Composition (4)
-AP US History (4)
I also scored 1320 on my SAT (700 on Reading and Writing and 620 on Math)
I am wanting to tutor students in any of the AP classes listed above, the SAT reading and writing section, biology, and most middle school level subjects.
I love teaching people and being able to use my passion for learning and academics to help others. I enjoy working with people my age (I'm 19) and younger. Being able to help another person understand something they're struggling with and see them succeed is a truly rewarding experience.
I was often the person my friends would come to for help in classes, and from that I found I really enjoy helping others learn.
I was a peer educator all 4 years of high school. I also acted as a peer tutor as a junior and senior for any students needing help at my K-12 school.

I like to get to know what my students strengths and what classes they enjoy, before asking them about where they're struggling. Knowing where students excel helps me understand how they learn best. After that I like to have my students show me what they are currently working on and look at their current process(es) to see where problems may be coming up.
I was a peer educator in high school and spoke to classes in middle and high school. I was also a peer tutor during my senior year. As a peer tutor, I worked with students aged 9 to 18 in a variety of areas, including personal organization, AP psychology, and college admissions.

I've never had any AP classes but she's helped me a lot in my understanding of my classwork as well as my homework
I haven't taken AP Psych or Stats, but she has helped me tremendously with AP Lang and English. She is great at explaining what things I can improve on and how.
