About Haley
Hello! I'm Haley, a recent graduate of Brown University with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Biology.
I tailor my tutoring to every student's learning styles and needs, and my prices are very negotiable.
I have been tutoring students since senior year of high school in standardized test preparation (SAT, AP, ACT) and have been complimented for my approachability with the students as well as my focus on in-depth understanding of the material. I want to ensure maximum learning and retention while in a comfortable learning setting. I have also worked as a Teaching Assistant for 4 semesters at college for Differential Equations, Information Theory, and Operations Research. Along with being a TA, I also worked as a group tutor for 7 semesters in Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra. I have worked both in-person and remotely for both of the above positions, and I am fluent with the remote learning setting as well as the classroom.
Teaching students gives me fulfillment in my studies, and I feel that it reinforces my learning as I teach other students as well. I give students my all because I know how difficult some of these subjects may seem at first, and I really want to help them navigate the material and also discover new conceptual thinking strategies to keep for life.

I first ask their grade level in school, if they are in school and if they believe their math level to be below average, average, or above average of that corresponding grade level. I then prepare a diagnostic test of basic math skills at the aforementioned level. Then, I confirm the goal the student wishes to achieve through tutoring with me. Is tutoring with me for test preparation? General enhancement of math skills? Getting ahead? Catching up? Once all of this is established, I will go ahead and start teaching based on what the student needs.
