About Cassie
If you need help catching up in class, improving your grade, or would like to go beyond what is taught in class I can help you. I see myself as a partner in your learning and approach every concept holistcally. I have worked with 2nd graders to undergrads in a myriad of subjects for 7 years.
I love helping a student go from a D to an A. I always impress upon my students that success can be achieved by any student with hard work.
My mom is an elementary teacher and so I have always had a deep appreciation for learning. I also know that the school environment doesn't always meet students needs With this in mind I started tutoring math in high school and have loved it ever since.
I am a junior majoring in mathematics at UC Berkeley. I have taken classes in how to teach K-12 students in math and science specifically. I am have been a tutor at the UC Berkeley Student Learning Center for two years, as well as a private tutor for five.

I ask that students send me a picture of their work before we begin so that I can best prepare. When we first meet, I go over my teaching style, which is collaborative and contains a lot of explanation and detail. I also ask what the student's learning style is and what they prefer, i.e., very verbal, likes a lot of pictures, likes real world examples. I am only working through Zoom or your preferred online platform currently.
I have worked with 2nd graders through undergraduates.
Make sure to find a tutor that is your best fit, regardless if it is me or another tutor.

Perfect! My HS Sopomore son is a bit reserved and would rather struggle than ask for help.
He was failing Algebra 2 and within the course of about a month his understanding along with his grades completely changed.
He reached a C and is now pushing an A
I'm keeping this gem on his schedule as long as possible not just to keep his grades up but because his overall attitude toward math has shifted.
For sure I'd recomend giving Cassandra a try!!Perfect! She was very approachable. My daughter felt quite at ease working with Cassandra. She took the time to understand my daughter's learning style and worked helped her understand better. My daughter's grade improved one whole letter grade in less than a month's time of tutoring. My daughter felt more confident taking tests afterward. I will definitely be reaching out to her once school starts again!
