About Renee
Hi! I have 1 year of volunteering experience tutoring high school and junior high math, and 2.5 years of paid experience coaching recreational gymnastics and dance (ages 2-14), and I have experience working with kids who have special needs. I am a very positive teacher and I am patient and level-headed. I try to be very encouraging, which can help keep spirits up. I am also good at explaining concepts using analogies and examples that makes sense, and I am willing to explain something in as many ways as are necessary in order for it to make sense to someone. I graduated high school in the top 2% of my class and I am currently attending ASU as an electrical engineering student.
I like seeing people work hard for something and then get what they worked for. As a gymnastics coach, it always makes me so happy to see the look on kids' faces when they get a skill they have been working towards for a while.
I did gymnastics for 10 years, and when my previous rec-coach heard that I'd quit, she called me and asked if I wanted to work as a coach for her. In terms of my tutoring experience, a teacher in high school said that there was a homeroom class that was looking for some tutors once a week, so I offered to help.
