About
I am a 2nd career math teacher. I was an accountant for 15 years prior to transitioning. As a result, I bring a great deal of practical application to my courses. I taught for 20 years teaching everything from algebra I and geometry, to pre-calc, calc, stats, and IB Applications and Interpretation. I am adept at taking complex mathematical concepts and relating them in a real world and understandable way. Math doesn't need to be hard! I have an extensive questionnaire and meet with my students prior to tutoring, to better understand where they are and what they need.

Mr. Stutz is a wonderful instructor. He has a way of breaking down concepts that just makes sense, and his individualized attention is invaluable.

Doug is fantastic at identifying what students need. I was one who needed to be left alone to figure things out, and he was very understanding of that. Other students needed more coaching, and he was great with them too. The only teacher I’ve ever had who genuinely cared about educating students, as opposed to spoonfeeding curriculum and collecting a paycheck.
