Allen is out of this world. He will tell you he can't remember something that well then derive it out of thin air (very advanced topics). I started working with Allen because I was struggling with circuit analysis. He helped me build an intuition for solving circuits and it is one of the things I do best now. Allen has always been patient with my sometimes erratic schedule, and without him, I would not only have performed worse in my courses but I would not have the actual knowledge I do of many topics. Many will find, especially at a research university, that professors will not treat teaching as their primary job - Allen got me through a few of those. He is excellent for STEM courses, and even up to senior level Electrical Engineering courses. I've tried meetings with TAs and occasionally professors, but Allen was always a better resource. Allen's mental fortitude is unmatched; this guy could literally be anything he wants to be in this world, and he is choosing to help students - he chose that because he is good at it and because he cares, and that will show.

Finding Allen for my daughter was truly a blessing with a miraculous outcome. He really teaches you how to think through a problem vs showing you how to do it. He also connected my confusion on some of the topics. Most importantly, he is excellent communicator.

Allen has been tutoring both of my high school children for the past 4 months in the subjects of honors math & science. They both are very comfortable with the online tutoring as it is like he is sitting next to them. He’s flexible with his scheduling and more importantly, he’s responsive daily. Of great importance to me as a parent is Allen’s style – I didn’t want a tutor who just did coached them up on their homework. He’s proactive is preparing material that is related to the subject in an effort to make sure they truly understand the concept. He assists them with their note taking and as appropriate, prepares lists of the key points which they can review later. This has created improved scores and confidence in both of my children. I also have to say that he truly cares about them – as he asks me how they’re doing & about their grades. After a few sessions, he’s gotten to know their strengths & weaknesses which translates into more productive sessions. Allen isn’t just a tutor as he’s become a safe haven for them when they can’t figure out the material themselves or online. If they get stuck on one problem but don’t have a session planned, he encourages them to simply text it to him and he’ll respond as soon as possible and always same day. I have no complaints and only praise for Allen. If my children need tutoring in math & science into the college years, he’s the go-to guy! I rate him a 5 out of 5.
