About
I've worked as a physicist for a decade. During that time, I taught many undergraduate classes in physics (laboratory and lecture) and mathematics (algebra through vector calculus).
As a physicist, I became a software engineer by necessity and have knowledge of Python, C++, MATLAB, BASH, and a general aptitude for computer science.
My approach to teaching was to try to be what I needed as a student. I had to struggle to learn math and the subjects that require it. I had to ask question after question to understand the fundamentals required to master a given topic.
The struggle that I endured to complete my PhD and work as a physicist helps me understand what students that are also struggling need. I encourage question after question to try and gain a fundamental understanding of the topic at hand. My knowledge of the physical world allows me to draw parallels between the abstract idea of math and computer science to the world we live in. I try to give students examples that demonstrate how the topics they are learning are used in the real world.
