About Ashley
Hi! My name is Ashley, and I am a graduate student at the University of Pittsburgh finishing my Masters in Elementary Education and Special Education as well as a Certificate in American Sign Language. I am looking to virtually tutor students who may need some extra help with their academics. Due to this pandemic, I would prefer to tutor virtually. I have much experience doing this and can make learning fun and engaging through the computer! I have experience tutoring students from kindergarten to fourth grade. I also have experience working with students in special education. I love to come up with creative games and activities to get students excited about their leaning! If you have any questions, feel free to ask. :)
I love seeing the lightbulb go off when students understand a concept! Furthermore, I love building relationships with my students. I am fully committed to helping them achieve their academic goals!
I have known I wanted to be a teacher since high school! I am very excited to complete my degree and have my own classroom soon. I have a passion for supporting students in meeting their academic goals. I believe that every child is capable, and I am here to help and remind them of that!
I am currently works towards my Masters in Elemetary and Special Education. I have completed many courses in education and have experience tutoring students virtually. I am able to work Zoom and Microsoft Teams, and have engaging and fun lessons even through the computer!

Our first session always talks about what their goals are. Once these are set, I like to do a mini-lesson on the concept being discussed for that session. Students will complete practice problems with my support and then on their own. Finally, I always incorporate a fun game or activity that exhibits the targeted skill as a reinforcement.
I have worked with students ranging from kindergarten to fourth grade in all subjects. I have worked with students in general education as well as special education. In addition, I have my American Sign Language Certificate and can conduct lessons in sign language.
