About Shelton
My name is Shelton Walker, I am a highschool junior, and I love being able help other students. I can really relate to my peers as I was in their shoes before and understand how they feel as I am still a student myself. The lessons I provide are simple, straightforward, and always fun to understand for the students. I also incorporate a lot of visual learning as I have learned it is the best way for a student to learn.
I love being able to see the growth of my student as they gradually start to learn what I am teaching. My favorite experience tutoring was at my old church in Florida a few years ago, when I tutored an elementary student, being a younger student, I incorporated a lot of pictures, toys, snacks, and at the end of the two week program, she had fully learned her addition and subtraction. It was a great experience and learned so much from it.
In regards to math, I am a highschool junior, who is not two years ahead of my peers in Math. I completed Algebra 1 and Geometry in seventh and eighth grade. Where I then proceeded to complete Alegbra 2 and Pre-Calculus in my first two years of highschool. Currently I am in Calculus AB. Additionally I have sustained A's in each of these classes. I have also been partaking of a math enrichment program called Kumon ever since I was in elementary school.

When working with a new student, I try and get to know them a little bit so I know their strenghts and weaknesses, in order for me to incorporate that into my lessons best tailored for them personally.
