About Joshua
I am an educator hoping to fill in my summers by helping students improve their understanding of Math and the many amazing things it does for the world.
During the regular school year I teacher 7th grade math but I have also taught high school mathematics in the past. I have tutored students in high level mathematics such as Statistics and Calculus. So, I am comfortable with whatever level of math is asked of me.
I consider my teaching career to have started in high school when I tutored a friend of mine in precalculus.
I tutored in college for College Algebra, Finite Mathematics and Statistics.
I graduated college and got my teaching license in 2016 and have been teaching since.
I am a licensed Secondary Math Education major with a Secondary Math teaching degree.
I have 4 years of classroom teaching experience and another 1.5 years as a college level tutor.

I'm always looking to get the know the student a bit before we get working. It's nice to get a feel for their personality because that helps me better understand their personal learning style.
Then I like to figure out what they are struggling with the most in whatever content they worked on before or are moving towards.
I have worked with many different types of students. I have tutored math majors and struggling math students in college. I spent an entire year teaching struggling middle school students where I developed my skills to differentiate instruction.
