About Roy
Hi!
My name is Roy and I'm a high school math teacher. I've been tutoring for 8 years now and love working one on one or with small groups. I tutor any level up to Pre-Calculus plus ACT and SAT prep.
I think the success of tutoring depends largely on the connection made between student and teacher and that's what I strive for.
I was working at a summer camp and studying engineering and realized I wanted to work with children.
I've taught middle and high school math for 33 years. I have a math degree from San Diego State University.

Do you best to understand the concepts and not just complete work. Never hesitate to ask questions or say you don't understand.
Expanding tutoring to include zoom sessions if that is what is preferred. I did this over the pandemic.

Roy is amazing! He's always prompt and communicates scheduling clearly. He's an amazing tutor and has an amazing teaching style that brings out the best in the kids he's tutoring!

Roy is an excellent math tutor. He has worked with my younger child, helping with fractions, word problems, and geometry, as well as helping my older children, helping with integrated math 1 and 2, and Precalculus. He is an excellent tutor, who is extremely knowledgeable about all math topics. We have worked with many different math tutors and he is the best! Roy helps teach and reinforces concepts and provides extra math problems to ensure my kids fully understand the material.
