About Charlotte
Hello, I'm Charlotte! I have been teaching middle school math and coaching math teachers in the Bay Area for 13 years, and I absolutely love helping young people overcome their "math fear" and develop into capable and confident math leaners. I'm very proud of my record of success with students at a wide range of incoming skill levels in the context of a full classroom, and am excited to bring my skills to more targeted one-on-one instruction!
I graduated from Stanford in 2012 with an Economics undergraduate degree and a Master's in Secondary Math Education, and have been a full-time educator ever since at public schools with economically, racially and academically diverse student populations in San Jose and San Francisco. I have primarily taught 8th grade and Algebra, but have worked closely with 6th and 7th grade teachers and students and am very familiar with all middle school math standards. I have not taught high school courses since my student teaching, but absolutely love re-immersing myself in high school math standards and would be excited and confident to tutor a student in any math subject up through Calculus.
I currently am still teaching full time and am only available weekday evenings or on weekends, but plan to expand my availability after the end of this school year. Please reach out if you have any questions, or if you think I might be a good fit for you or your child!
