About Vismaya
I have been tutoring for over 5 years now and I am a senior in high school. Being a student myself, I know how to cater to my peers' needs and I have a lot of experience. From tutoring my own classmates in school to professionally teaching online, I have been working with learners for a long time. I also notice that students benefit from having both a tutor and a peer role model at the same time which makes my service stand out more.
I absolutely love teaching. I have been described as a good teacher and I love imparting knowledge to others. I love designing and planning lessons. I love all the work I do :)
Having a mom who is a teacher really exposed me to the educational world very young. I have been instructing others for as long as I can remember and helping my mom. Professionaly, I have been tutoring for about two years.
I am a high school student. My mom is a teacher as well and I have been assisting her for as long as I can remember. She is my ultimate role model. I have taken several honors courses and my GPA is a 4.67 in high school.

I love getting to know the student first before jumping in. Understanding the student's background and how they learn makes us more familiar with each other and allows me to formulate a lesson plan strictly for the student.
I have worked with students as young as 3 years old and students in college as well. I have also worked with international students.
I would say this: get someone who is the same boat as you so they can better help you. Getting a high school tutor to help you with geometry or algebra 2 while you are in high school will be more beneficial.
I recently got a dog and it has been the greatest joy of my life.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Just remember this: never be afraid to ask a question. Even if you get it wrong, it's a learning experience. Life's too short to care about what everyone thinks.

Vismaya was the best tutor to work with for both Spanish and English! We loved her style of teaching and she really helped my eight year old improve both his reading and writing! She ha a very strong grammar base and she is always prepared! She prepares the best slides/lessons and my son loves her class!
My son (age 12) took writing lessons with Vismaya and absolutely loved it! She is an excellent writer (I have read several of her essays) and she is a fantastic teacher! She is able to very concisely and easily explain concepts to my son and his writing has improved tremendously! Now his school assignments are much easier and he helps his friends with writing! Working with Vismaya was awesome!
Working with Vismaya for math and reading was amazing! She has one of the best methods for working with elementary and middle school students. My daughter did algebra, geometry, and algebra II with her and we absolutely loved it! Being a peer tutor, she also provides valuable advice for the upper grades and is one of the most patient teachers I know. She is the best for math, english, and spanish!
