About Alden
Teaching and helping people understand STEM subjects have been a passion since I myself learned them. As a student myself I seek to give a student’s perspective to these sometimes difficult subjects and thus make them easier to understand.
I am just starting tutoring, and as such have little experience, but I have helped my class mates throughout my high school years with success.
I believe I am qualified for high school level math and physical sciences tutoring for such reasons:
1. I am attending an engineering university for a degree in chemical engineering (academic junior, 3.93GPA) on scholarship;
2. I was the valedictorian for a college prep high school, graduating with 4.0+ GPA.
3. I scored an 800 on both the SAT math section and the math 2 subject test, with a score of 790 in the chemistry subject test.
4. I scored 5’s on the AP Chemistry, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, and Physics C exams.
Helping tutor other students at school
Junior at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute studying chemical engineering with a 3.95 GPA. I also scored a perfect 800 on the math section of the SAT and a 5 on the AP Calculus AB and BC, as well as a 5 on the AP Physics (both Mechanics and E&M), and a 5 on the AP Chemistry exams.

After which I will use a combination of teaching and practice problems to improve the student’s understanding and confidence in said subjects.
