About Thomas
Hello future pupils! My name is Tom, and I love any outdoor activity, especially fly fishing and skiing. I am also a husband, veteran, incoming medical school student, and lover of lifelong learning! I graduated from The Citadel in 2010 with a degree in biology, served 11 years in the Air Force, and then completed post-baccalaureate studies with a pre-health focus at NC State before deciding to switch careers and become a physician. This summer, I will begin at the Wake Forest School of Medicine.
While I love learning, especially any of the sciences, I have discovered that what I enjoy most is helping others discover their passions for learning on their unique academic journey. Believe me, I know what it feels like to not quite 'get' or relate to a subject. Often, it is because we need first to understand how our minds absorb and process different types of information. I aim to help you with that by using proven processes to make your most challenging studies more understandable, relatable, and enjoyable.
We will develop a system that works best for you, the student, and then stick to that system throughout your coursework. However, at all points along the way, I will be open to all feedback from both students and parents, as I firmly believe this is a team effort and flexibility is key.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you accomplish your academic goals!
