About Brenley
The penetration of digital technology in education has increased dramatically, especially during this unprecendented time of Covid-19. As such, Dr. McIntosh strives to expand access to quality education resources for students at the high school and university levels through her tutoring, academic coaching and test prep. Her aim is to help students navigate a rapidly evolving education landscape with appropriate content tutoring and assessment, while honoring each student's learning style.
Dr. McIntosh has decades of teaching experience. She was a teaching assistant/laboratory instructor for a junior level microbiology lab while in grad school, along with tutoring various high school students. After graduating with her PhD, she created and taught numerous semesters of the course, CACAO (Community Assessment for Community Annotations with Ontologies), for undergraduate and graduate students at univerisities across the US and UK. She taught students how to think critically about scientific literature and extract structured information about proteins that was useful to bioinformatics databases world-wide.
Dr. McIntosh worked for almost three years at MIT OpenCourseWare with the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences, the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the Department of Literature and the Department of Chemistry.
Beyond teaching at the undergrad/grad level, Dr. McIntosh has been tutoring for decades, and worked with a large tutoring company in Boston before setting off on her own with Auxilium Tutoring.
