About Andrew
I am an electrical engineer in the construction industry. I have always enjoyed math and helping others understand and excel in the subject.
For my profession I design electrical infrastructure for buildings. So I get to the the buildings I work on built around the city I live in. I love that.
For tutoring I love enabling people to move forward and progress so they can accomplish their goals and develop skills that can help them throughout life and not just the specific application we're working on.
I have been tutoring off and on since I was in high school. I graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Mathematics.

I like to find out what subjects/concepts they are struggling with. I ask them what their current understanding of those subjects/concepts are. I ask how they have found to be the best way to learn and study. With that knowledge I can customize how I teach and work with the student so that they understand the subjects/concepts they are struggling with. I want students to be able to walk me through how they solve the problems when they feel they have a firm grasp on the subjects/concepts.
I have worked with high school students and freshman/sophomore college students.
If you don't understand something in math it isn't your fault. There are so many different ways of learning and teaching math, and my goal is to find the way that works for you.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What is the specific thing you are struggling with? Is it how the subject/concept was explained? Is it how you apply the subject/concept to different problems?
What has worked for you with learning and studying? If you don't know that's okay we can figure that out together, but if you know methods that work for you that's where we can start.
What are your goals from tutoring? Is it to pass a test/class, learn methods of studying/learning for the future, or is it something else? Goals change but having a clear goal at the start will make it easier for me to provide what you need from the start.
